Young Brothers G-Force Team
G-Force Update at the AAU Taekwondo National Championships
Here is a list of the Young Brothers G-Force Team standings for last week's tournament, the AAU Taekwondo National Championships June 29th - July 5th, 2008 in Madison WI. Our team members brought home 16 medals out of 20 athletes in their age/ belt / weight divisions!
We are so grateful for First Evangelical Lutheran Church to have allowed us to train in the Great Room for the entire month of June. Master Mark Giambi, his son, Head Coach Gianni Giambi and the rest of the G-Force team would like to thank the church for its generosity! The kids spent 15-18 hours a week, the last 5 weeks, preparing for Nationals and it has certainly paid off!
The attached list shows the team athletes as well as the medal standings. I also included a team picture taken in the Great Room, and a picture of Gabrielle Shaddock, Carroll Shaddock's grand-daughter, who placed third in the country in her division (10-11 yr old, girls, Black Belt, 78lbs.)
Peter Sidney Shaddock made it to the Quarter-Finals after winning is first match in the boys 12-13 yr. Black Belt, 87 lbs. division. He lost his second match after re-injurying his lower back, which he had strained in training two weeks prior. In total, we brought home 6 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 5 Bronze medals.
